TTW – Newsletter – 002 – 10-31-22
Hey there,
First of all, Happy Halloween!
This coming month, Take the World is proud to announce our new membership program, Film Friends. The goal of this program is to pool funds and resources of our members to book locations, collectively submit to festivals, and most of all, network. Our goal is to support the starving artist and build opportunities.
Film Friends will start at $10/month and go towards networking and creative endeavors, allowing our collective to act as support for each member.
As part of the membership, you will be added to our networking spreadsheet where you can look up other members of Take the World who might be able to fit into a production you’re on. You’ll have access to this spreadsheet for as long as you’re a member.
When you sign up, you’ll be presented a form to complete, where you can list your skills, resources, and passion in the film industry. Then, that information will be added to our registrar and other members can seek you out.
We want our members to be able to work and find the talent they need to get their projects done. By partaking in this membership, you’ll be able to refer your Film Friends to productions (and you’ll have access to references for your work). If you choose to be a part of this membership, please remember to alleviate any miscommunications by contacting the reference ahead of time.
As a part of this membership, you’ll have first referral on Take the World’s own productions. And while we’re still a fledging production house and cannot promise pay, you will get the choice of what role you take on the set, as well as IMDb credit, a collection of the Film Friends BTS photos, and a community to support you on your creative journey, in a city that can sometimes be isolating.
In return, you’d be able to come onto a project that interests you, find creatives to connect with, and utilize the resources we all have at our disposal.
Keep an eye out through November for more information!

Next up, we’d like to give a shoutout to a film combat and karate studio in Inglewood. Final Conflict Karate lead by Calvert David Miles offers classes through the week for self-defense, weapons, sparring, karate, kickboxing, and film combat.
If you want to get in touch with Calvert, use the following link to head send a message: Final Conflict Karate
That’s all for now, but we’ll be working hard over the next month to bring you some more exciting news,
@ The Take the World team
